Graf Lantz + Akea Brionne
Fine art meets the everyday.
At Graf Lantz, we cultivate an open and creative space for artists, our community and our customer to express their visions and find inspiration in the everyday. Our canvases are open for interpretation - a blank canvas to explore, create and imagine.
In partnership with Detroit-based artist Akea Brionne and Iris Projects, a non-profit dedicated to amplifying the voices of artists and their disciplines, we bring you our Graf Lantz + Akea Brionne canvas collection. Inspired by original mud cloth designs, Akea Brionne created a 4-piece collection infusing her personal style on top of our signature canvas materials, bringing fine art to the everyday.
About the Artist
Akea Brionne is a Creole artist working at the intersection of photography and fibers. Her work explores identity, culture, and memory and uses a mixture of mediums from photography, collage, sewing, design, and archival imagery. Akea Brionne is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and is currently based in Detroit, MI.
"Being creole, I grew up at the intersection of a lot of different cultures and I explore a lot of that through colors and shape and repetition. I love textiles, I love jewels, I love patterns and shapes inspired by nature and food, and I'm allowing myself to explore it more in whatever way feels fit."
