In partnership with Detroit-based artist Akea Brionne and Iris Projects, a non-profit dedicated to amplifying the voices of artists and their disciplines, we bring you our Graf Lantz + Akea Brionne canvas collection. Inspired by original mud cloth designs, Akea Brionne created a 4-piece collection infusing her personal style on top of our signature canvas materials.
These limited edition screen-printed totes have been produced in small batches and use industrial-weight canvas. They are screen-printed and custom-dyed in Los Angeles. The Brick Canvas Hana Boat is an upscale market tote that functions as well as it looks. Sling it over your shoulder to make it a unique and beautiful carry-all. Features include deconstructed edges, premium vegetable-tanned leather, an interior pocket, and a nickel snap closure.
Due to the artisanal and hand-finished nature of the fraying technique you may experience loose threads that make their way out of the unfinished edges up until the stitching around the edge of the bag. Please trim if necessary!

Our Canvas
We hand dye our canvas in small batches and sew them in Los Angeles. They are hand frayed for a relaxed look and get their colors from OEKO-TEX® dyes, making sure they are non-toxic and free of harmful chemicals.

Vegetable Tanned Leather
We use vegetable tanned hides which means our tanning process is free of artificial chemicals products. The vegetable tanning process is one of the oldest methods used to create high-quality leather goods. Hides are soaked in a solution of plant matter (mostly tree bark), which naturally pulls water out and preserves the leather. This process takes up to two months and is watched over closely by skilled artisans.
